ODS awarded NCQA Accreditation

The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) has a singular mission: improving the quality of healthcare for Americans. Recently, the organization -- an independent not-for-profit based in our nation's capital -- came to Oregon to determine whether ODS' PPO health plan was up to its very high standards.

The answer? Yes!

ODS Health Plan, Inc.'s Commercial Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) was recently awarded NCQA's coveted Accreditation status.

Says Robert Gootee, president and CEO of ODS, "This demonstrates, in an independent and measured way, what many Oregonians long have known: that ODS, widely recognized as the market leader in dental insurance, is also a great place to buy medical insurance."

Since its launch in 1990, NCQA has helped spur healthcare quality to the top of the national agenda. Its seal is nationally recognized as the premier symbol of quality, signaling to both consumers and employers that an organization delivers the highest quality care and service.

ODS met a rigorous set of more than 60 standards and reported on its performance in more than 40 areas in order to earn NCQA's seal of approval. Says Gootee, "We believe in the NCQA Accreditation process. We believe also that it has made us better than we have ever been at serving our customers. And, we are proud to have earned their seal of approval."
